Application guide

WALL BORDER STRIPS

To create a spectacular border around your room, first place light pencil marks along your wall to use as a guide (this can be done by measuring up from the floor using a tape measure) and fix the border strips one by one along your wall in line with your pencil marks.

To apply, fix to the wall at one end using a strip of masking tape as a temporary hinge, lift the other end away from the wall and peel away the backing paper starting from the hinged end, rubbing the border down gently with a soft cloth as you work your way across with an up & down motion to minimise trapped air.

Finally, use a pin or sharp craft knife to expel any trapped air that may be left. To create a stronger adhesion with the wall you can apply pressure across your decor by rubbing over it with a credit card or similar flat object (remember to place the backing paper in front of your decor to protect it while doing this).

WALL STICKERS

Place the sheet face-down, peel and curl the edge of the backing paper upwards and away from the sticker.

To avoid trapping air under the sticker, press one edge in place on the wall and while holding the other end away from the wall rub the sticker down gently with a soft cloth starting at the fixed end and working your way across with an up & down or side to side motion to minimise trapped air.

Finally, use a pin or sharp craft knife to expel any trapped air that may be left. To create a stronger adhesion with the wall you can apply pressure across your decor by rubbing over it with a credit card or similar flat object (remember to place the backing paper in front of your decor to protect it while doing this).

MEASURE BEFORE ORDERING

Be sure to buy enough border strips or sticker packs to complete your project as we cannot guarantee an exact match when re-ordering as designs and materials used can change without notice.

Our self adhesive products are easy to apply (no pasting required), water-proof, have a very high scratch resistance and are very easy to maintain (just wipe clean with a damp cloth).

Our self adhesive products can be applied to most flat, smooth, dry surfaces (emulsion, gloss, etc.) Before application you must ensure that your walls are adequately prepared if showing any signs of dampness or loose/flaky paint.

Our self adhesive products are not designed to adhere to wallpaper, bumpy/textured emulsion or 'washable' paint which contains teflon, silicone or similar substances which are designed to repel dirt, crayons etc.

Newly painted walls should be completely dry before applying our self adhesive products. You will need to wait at least 3 weeks after painting before you apply your item to a freshly painted wall. Even if the paint feels dry to the touch soon, it is still curing and will affect adhesion causing your item to not stick properly. Actual drying times are dependent on the atmospheric conditions (temperature, humidity etc.), the number of layers of paint and the paint brand used.

Extreme temperatures can affect adhesion so remove your item from its packaging and leave to settle at room temperature overnight or until ready to apply. Do not apply in humid or cold conditions.

Applying emulsion by roller can result in a wall with a slightly bumpy texture which may affect adhesion even after waiting for the wall to dry fully, this is due to the adhesive making contact with the bumps only rather than the surface being in full contact with the adhesive. In this case just cover the back of the item with wall border glue or a spray adhesive until tacky, when the item is applied to the wall the adhesive will sink into the areas around the bumpy texture which will provide adhesion.

We do not accept returns for items not sticking as we use industry standard self adhesive materials which have a lifespan of 3 to 5 years. We have tested these materials over many years for both indoor and outdoor use, we also use these products for our own children's bedrooms.
